Foundry

Dan Zaretsky's foundry, located in Kiryat Bialik, Israel, is an essential component of his artistic practice. Partnering with Avraham (Umi) Alon, Zaretsky utilizes the traditional Lost Wax technique to create his bronze sculptures. He is intimately involved in every stage of the casting process, from creating the original sculptures to making molds and overseeing the pouring of the bronze. With a deep knowledge of bronze casting techniques, Zaretsky produces sculptures of exceptional quality and detail.

In addition to his own work, Zaretsky has collaborated with and created works for many renowned artists, including Amos Kenan and Sigalit Landau. He also had the privilege of restoring the sculpture of Alexander Zaïd by David Polus, originally made of stone that had deteriorated.

The foundry allows Zaretsky to experiment with different casting methods and materials, such as creating sculptures from thin bronze cylinders, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the medium. Overall, Zaretsky's foundry, supported by Alon, is integral to his artistic vision, providing the tools and resources needed to bring unique sculptures to life.
